Mia Mattern

Mia Mattern is the podcast production director for Poetry4Progress. She is an Avery County High School senior in Western North Carolina. Her passion for environmental conservation drives her involvement in the school's Environmental Club and her participation in the North Carolina Envirothon competition. Complementing her commitment to the environment is her engagement with the Science Olympiad, where she explores diverse scientific disciplines. Beyond academics, Mia thrives as an avid hiker, biker, and reader, reveling in the natural beauty of her region while deepening her environmental insights through literature. With a holistic approach to her passions, Mia is hopeful to make a positive impact in her community and contribute to the preservation of our planet's precious resources
