Every footprint towards Selma

Became synonymous with society's biggest shoe to fill

Each generation after layering on symbolic socks of passion, love, and maturity

In hopes of getting a snug fit in his shoes

Because even with additional support none of us can walk a mile in his boots

But as a love letter to a man who shaped America

I think we should all at least try to
